Never Apologize for Asking People to Train in Martial Arts

Never forget the impact that martial arts training has on people.

Many school owners struggle with and are uncomfortable trying to recruit new students into their school because they don't want to appear pushy or sales-driven. They seen and have experienced how other industries have promoted their products and would rather not bother others with just another pitch and potentially turn people off to martial arts.

That is understandable, and although we shouldn't come off too pushy, we must remember that we're not selling used cars, or worthless trinkets. What we are selling is a lifestyle that can truly be invaluable to whomever we offer to join.

We know martial arts training is life transforming. When you are successful in encouraging someone to try martial arts they will thank you later. Remember, when you believe in the value of martial arts training and you speak this from the heart, your sincerity will shine through. You will connect with people in a way no slick script alone could ever allow you to and will appear genuine and caring to them and not their wallet.

Don’t forget, when you’re speaking to someone about martial arts training, don't be thinking, “I hope they enroll because I need a new student. We really need to hit our goal this month." Instead, think, “This person will definitely benefit from martial arts training. This could even save their life one day. They are going to benefit so much from our program.”

The difference in this perspective alone will be transformational.
